Anti-Corruption Policy

1. Introduction

LIGHTS is committed to integrity, transparency, and accountability in all its operations. We follow a zero-tolerance approach towards bribery and corruption and uphold the highest ethical standards.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, board members, consultants, volunteers, interns, partners, vendors, and third parties associated with the organisation.

3. Policy Statement

  • No employee or partner shall offer, give, request, or accept any form of bribe, facilitation payment, or undue advantage.
  • Bribery includes money, gifts, favors, hospitality, employment offers, or anything of value intended to influence decisions or secure improper benefits.
  • The organisation will comply with all relevant anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws in India and internationally.

4. Responsibilities

  • All employees and associates must act with fairness, integrity, and transparency.
  • Any suspicion or knowledge of bribery, corruption, or unethical conduct must be reported to the management/ethics committee.
  • Third parties working with the organisation are required to comply with this policy.

5. Permitted Practices

  • Token gifts of nominal value (e.g., calendars, pens, flowers) are allowed if they are not linked to any decision-making advantage and are disclosed.
  • Reasonable and transparent hospitality may be permitted only with prior approval.

6. Compliance & Consequences

  • Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, termination of contract, and legal action.
  • The organisation may withdraw from any partnership if the other party is found violating this policy.

7. Reporting Concerns

Employees, volunteers, or third parties should promptly report suspected violations through the designated reporting mechanism (Director/HR person). Whistleblowers will be protected from retaliation.

8. Review

This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated to remain compliant with legal requirements and best practices.
