Dr Sarat Chandra Tripathy has been working as a senior scientist with the Ocean Sciences Group of NCPOR, Goa since 2011. Before joining National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), he was carrying out post doctoral research at Nagoya University, Japan. He has over two decades of post-MSc research experience and has published more than 60 research papers in several peer-reviewed journals of national and international repute. Presently, he is working towards understanding the productivity potential and biogeochemistry of the Indian sector of Southern Ocean and Arctic fjords of Svalbard by actively involving in the scientific expeditions to the polar waters. His research interests include study of harmful algal blooms, phytoplankton productivity and physiology, ocean color remote sensing, nutrient dynamics in estuarine and coastal environment, bio-optics and bio-physical interaction studies to understand the ocean biogeochemistry. Dr Tripathy is CoChair of the Southern Ocean Indian Sector Regional Working Group (SOIS-RWG) of SOOS, and the national representative of the Scientific Standing Group- Life Sciences for SCAR.

Dr. Archana Dayal is a postdoctoral researcher at Aberystwyth University in the United Kingdom and works on an NERC-funded project. Her areas of research include the glacial ecosystem, biogeochemistry and microbial ecology. She is a recent inaugural recipient of the IASC-Prince Albert II Monaco Foundation Fellowship, where she represents the UK on IASC’s Terrestrial Working Group. Dr Archana has conducted extensive fieldwork in Longyearbyen, Svalbard (High Arctic) for four months. She was selected as the only student researcher for the 33rd Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica (33-ISEA) in 2013. Archana spent nearly five months in Antarctica working on her project, Biogeochemical studies of blue ice regions in coastal East Antarctica and the collected samples led to several publications at NCPOR. As a guest speaker, Dr Archana has presented several talks and posters at national and international conferences (Arctic Frontiers in Norway, Arctic Science Summit Week in Austria, Polar2018 and APECS Summit, Switzerland, IGS Kyoto Symposium, Japan, APECS Summit in Bulgaria).
Shri Anup Kumar Tiwari is presently Scientist F, working in the Antarctic Environmental Impact Assessment Department of NCPOR. He holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences and has over 20 years of experience in multiple areas like carrying out capacity project, Environmental Impact Assessment Studies for Cement, Thermal Power Plant, Steel, fertilizer and Hydro carbon industries. He has several publications in various national and International Journals.

Dr. Atul Kumar Singh is former Director, ICAR-Department of Coldwater Fisheries Research (DCFR). Dr Atul Kumar Singh holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.. His research areas include Fishery resource management and sustainable development, responsible fishery and biodiversity conservation, Impact Assessment of Introduced Fish Species (IAIFS) for responsible aquaculture, sex Control of important aquaculture fish species using biotechnological tools for reproductive containment and production of monosex population for aquaculture and ecological security.
Dr Subasis Pradhan completed his graduation in Science at Ganjam College, Ganjam. Subsequently he completed his post-graduation (M.Sc.) at the Department of Marine Sciences, Berhampur University, Odisha with specialisation in Oceanography. After his post-graduation, he worked in Odisha Space Application Centre as a Research Scholar and gained knowledge on the application of GIS and remote sensing to study oceanography.
Ms. Vineeta Hoon is the managing trustee of Centre for Action Research on Environment Science and Society (CARESS). Ms. Vineeta has earned a PhD in Geography from the University of Madras. She is also the regional representative (South Asia) of Seacology. Her research interests include human wellbeing, EMergy Analysis, Integrating Ecology and Economy, integrating socioeconomic with biophysical research in coral reefs. Marine Debris. Dr. Venkateswaran is currently Scientist E at NCPOR. Dr. Venkateswaran holds a M.Sc. in Microbiology, from Bhavnagar University, Gujarat. Dr. Venkateswaran has earned a PhD in Microbiology from Goa University. His current research activities include Microbial dynamics and carbon flux in Indian Ocean sector of Southern Ocean Bacterial-phytoplankton interactions in fjord system.
